The Gift of Flight

I learned to shape and weld steel to make many unique pieces. The sculpture I call “The Leviathan” is a combination of steel and wood and is an experiment in creating moveable joints. The spine is created of interconnected pieces and the jaw is hinged. The piece “The Gift of Flight” was my first foray into welding, an is inspired by a combination of insect and bird wings. The piece “Death From Above” is made of steel shards unaltered after being cut. The mouse that acts as a base is cast from bronze.
